Senior Strategist - San Francisco, NYC, DC or Atlanta
Senior Strategist–CAS is experienced in strategic and/or management consulting to C-Level executives at Global 2000, on the topics of IT strategy, business transformation and cost optimization derived from IT optimization, virtualization and cloud services. The Senior Strategist is responsible for supporting and maintaining “trusted advisor” relationships with senior client personnel within both the business and IT organizations. The Senior Strategist joins the CAS team that analyses, designs and delivers cloud strategy assessments, business transformation, and IT optimization programs exploiting the potential of virtualization technologies and cloud computing services.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in high-quality delivery of strategic/management consulting services, development of business cases, support of solution architecture designs, and management of multi-phased, complex migration programs that address technology, people/organization, and process change. In addition, the candidate must be able to understand complex IT and business problems and apply technology and product portfolio knowledge to solve customer problems in a consultative manner. The successful candidate will be able to articulate the advantages of infrastructure optimization and technology solutions as well as explain the competitive advantage and ROI achieved through various alternatives.
Essential Job Functions
- Deliver high-impact IT strategy analyses, business transformation programs, and cost optimization models employing cloud Computing and other related technologies
- Support the design of solution architectures and development of migration roadmaps
- Develop business cases, including ROI and TCO analysis, for transformations to virtualization and cloud computing environments
- Manage complex strategic analysis projects and migration/transformation programs, involving the client, Virtustream and other vendor personnel
- 10+ years of experience in technical consulting, management consulting, or similar field; MBA preferred
- Strong working knowledge of the cloud market and the key vendors
- Preferred: Technical skills and experience designing and implementing IT infrastructure solutions, involving virtualization and cloud technologies
- Preferred: Certification in VMware, Red Hat, and/or Microsoft virtualization technologies
- Working understanding of ITIL processes
- Excellent, proven financial modeling and business case development skills
- Good technical knowledge of cloud architectures, including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS
- Proven project design and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience communicating value, progress, and metrics (status) of key projects to required stakeholders and diverse audiences (technical and business)
- Ability to work as part of a geographically dispersed team
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
