Will HIMSS20 Be a Game-Changer for Your Healthcare Organization This Year?

in Business, Compliance, Healthcare Cloud, Healthcare, HIMSS

Editor’s Note (3/10/20): With the HIMSS organization’s decision to cancel its conference this year due to an abundance of caution concerning the COVID-19 situation, Virtustream’s plans for the conference changed as well. While this post is no longer relevant for the conference itself, the information about our Healthcare Cloud and related services remains accurate, so we’ve maintained this post for the benefit of our visitors.

Like tens of thousands of people around the world, I’m getting ready to head to HIMSS20 in March to learn about the latest advancements and ground-breaking trends in healthcare IT. As a technology professional focused on the world of healthcare, I look forward to HIMSS to see what’s on the horizon for the industry, ignite fresh ideas, and build new connections with some of the greatest minds in the industry.

The opportunity to learn and gain critical insights at HIMSS each year can lead to game-changing strategy shifts for healthcare IT organizations, not only for their own staff, but also for the healthcare institutions that they serve.

I recently read an analysis of the industry, The technology imperative for life sciences, that makes the point, “Digital disruption has reached the healthcare sector, and with it comes an imperative for life-science companies to retool core technology to remain competitive.” I found the article’s ten guidelines to provide great perspective on the emerging era ahead of us. And it reminded me that there’s no better place to spend a few days immersed in expert conversations and technology demonstrations than at HIMSS.

HIMSS is ground-zero when it comes to having a pulse on the healthcare IT industry and its latest advancements.

Don’t believe me? Then stop by Virtustream’s booth to inquire about how we’re helping advance patient-centric initiatives with our Virtustream Healthcare Cloud portfolio and helping customers manage a variety of ever-growing challenges with our expanding portfolio of xStreamCare services.

Can Virtustream’s Cloud be Your Game-Changer?

Virtustream can help healthcare providers of all sizes do more with less. For example, we’re helping Novant Health modernize and get the most out of their IT environments and Epic application in a HIPAA/HITECH-compliant cloud that’s purpose-built for mission-critical enterprise applications. This is done through a fundamentally different operating model, supported by expert xStreamCare services, to provide a managed platform that can improve the planning and migration process, help stabilize IT spend, uncover operational efficiencies, and free organizational talent to focus more on innovative patient care initiatives.

If you’re attending HIMSS this year, stop by our booth #7845, or schedule a meeting in advance with us. Be sure to check-out our demos and speaking sessions which include a special presentation on running Epic in the cloud from James Kluttz, CTO of Novant Health.

I’m excited to speak, myself. I’ll host a whiteboard session at 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday, March 10, in our Virtustream booth about the benefits of hosting Epic workloads with Virtustream for both healthcare providers and payers. And my colleagues will cover a variety of other hot topics during other whiteboard sessions, from the role a cloud customer success manager can play for you to IT strategies for accelerating innovation within your healthcare organization.

We hope to see you there, and, in the meantime, you can learn more about the Virtustream Healthcare Cloud offering here.
